Plot:

In a city called Palukaville, rodeo clowns, kids' party clowns, mimes, and professional female bowlers run amuck. Shakes is an alcoholic kids' party clown who is turned down for the role of television show. His arch nemesis, Binky lands the role. Bobcat Goldthwait is accused of killing his manager and long-time father figure Mr. Cheese. At one point, Bob tells Julie Brown, "I killed Mr. Cheese. I killed Mr. Cheese." At first, I thought he was saying, "I killed Mr. T.  I killed Mr T." This would have made for a crazy plot change in my opinion, but I'm just a dumbass and need to pay more attention to dialogue. In reality (well, I guess fake reality or something like that), Binky is the murderer. Shakes must show once and for all that he can overcome his alcoholism and prove to the world of his innocence. Along the way, Adam Sandler plays the early-mid 90's Adam Sandler that we all came to know and love. Sandler plays one of Cadet Zed's friends and fellow clown. Kathy Griffin is more or less not important in this movie (pretty much like in real life). She plays Julie Brown's character's Adam Sandler. Billy Madison actually tries hitting on her. I'd rather have Veronica Vaughn myself, but Pete Sampras already has dibs.

Favorite Part:

Shakes is forced into hiding by the false accusation of murder. As a result, he joins a mime studio. Nobody would suspect a clown hiding in a mime studio. Mimes fear clowns and try to stay away from them in Palukaville. At any rate, not "wubba, wubba, wubba" Julie Brown is with him. As Bobcat is about to enter, a female mime (there are some fantasies of mine that have finally been realized because of this) tells him to "Come on in; 'mimes' a wastin'." As she turns around to go back inside, Shakes gives her the finger. Julie Brown sees this and pulls his arm down. It is so subtle, but immensely humorous in all its subtlety.

Review:

This movie was way ahead of its time. Usually, when people say this it means the movie sucked. It did not in the very least suck. I thought the jokes were there, you just had to pay attention to get them. It makes you forget Bobcat ever made a Police Academy movie.

Recommendation:

You should watch it.
